Newnham Park’s accomplished team of instructors has taught men, women and children to shoot and enjoy the thrill of hitting their first target.

Whether you are a complete novice that’s never held a shotgun or a more experienced shooter who is struggling with a particular type of target or needs to brush up for a game shoot, Newnham Park SG is just the place to come.

You cannot fail to relax whilst at Newnham Park, given our beautiful surroundings and experienced instructors to give you all the guidance, support and encouragement you need to succeed.

The oak wooded valley that is home to our ground not only provides a stunning backdrop but offers some of the most interesting and challenging targets for new and experienced shooters alike.

Newnham Park Instructors:

Graham Lapthorn (Shooting Ground Manager): Graham is one of the country’s best shooting instructors, and perhaps also one of shooting’s brightest characters! He has 30 years of experience as an instructor and has managed the shooting ground for six years. He will also happily advise on gun fitting and even accompany on game shoots.

David Cobbold (Estate Manager): Despite the responsible position, David likes nothing more than coaching at the shooting ground. He is a well regarded instructor with limitless patience and an infectious passion for shooting.

To book a lesson with one of our instructors, simply  telephone Louise or Marie or send us an email. Lessons may be taken from 10.00 a.m. until 5.00 pm Monday to Saturday. Your instructor will discuss your aims with you and plan your lesson accordingly.

If you don’t have your own, we have a range of shotguns available in 12 gauge, lighter 20 gauge, or .410 for younger shooters.

At Newnham Park SG we welcome and encourage youngsters into shooting, and reduced prices are available for under 16s.
